His experiences serving in various capacities in a number of environments have informed his desire to help provide resources, training, and opportunities to individuals from underrepresented groups who have an interest in building careers in technology. He is a Brooklyn native, currently living in Hampton Roads with his wife and children.

Omar was born and raised in the county of Kings aka Brooklyn, New York. He?s been writing code since he first received that AOL 3.0 CD in the mail and hasn?t been able to stop. When he?s not writing code he keeps himself busy tinkering and building things in his backyard.

Tonia is a proud Virgin Islander, who, along with her husband and daughters currently call the city of Chesapeake, VA home. Her tool belt includes communications and marketing, project oversight, and process development/improvement across an array of industries. Currently she is "breaking" into the tech industry as a Technology Apprentice and learning all things front-end. Ultimately, she intends to leverage her ?soft skills? to help bridge the knowledge and communication gap that often exists between techies and the not so techy as well as build community, champion diversity and help foster interpersonal/intercultural competence wherever she lands.
